MechNode

Terms of service

Last updated 5 November 2026.

I'm Rob Hausdorf, and I develop MechNode on my own. These terms cover the game, on Android and in the browser at mechnode.fun, and the shop. By playing you agree to them. What I keep about you, and for how long, is in the privacy policy.

Your account

The first time the game opens it makes a pilot for you on my server. If you back your pilot up with a Google account from the settings screen, you can use the same account on every device. If you don't, the pilot lives only on that phone or in that browser, and uninstalling the game or clearing the browser's storage loses it for good, along with anything you bought for it.

My server deletes some accounts that are a week old and have never really been played, as the privacy policy describes. An account with a purchase on it is never deleted that way. You can ask me to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected].

Names

Your pilot name is shown to other players in the lobby, on the ladder and in duels. Names are checked automatically before they're accepted, and a player can report a name and block the pilot behind it. If a name gets past the check and shouldn't have, I'll change it.

Playing fair

Don't change the game's files, use scripts or bots to play for you, or find ways to give yourself credits, parts or rating you didn't earn. If you do, I can reset the account or delete it.

The shop

The shop sells credit packs, a one-off starter kit, extra Mech bays and the ability to paint your Mechs. The price is shown before you pay. On Android, Google Play takes the payment under Google Play's own terms. In the browser, Stripe takes it. Neither the game nor my server sees your card.

What you buy goes onto your account straight away. Credits are for spending in MechNode: they have no cash value, and they can't be swapped for money or moved to another account.

Refunds. For a purchase made on Android, ask Google Play for the refund, the way you would for any other app. For a purchase made in the browser, email [email protected] with your pilot name and what you bought, and I'll look at it.

The game changes

I keep working on MechNode, so parts, rivals, prices and rules change, including how strong a part is. Credits you've spent on a part stay spent when its numbers change. The ladder starts again on the first day of each month (UTC).

The server

I run the server myself. It goes down now and then for updates and faults, and I don't promise it will always be there. Live duels and the ladder don't work while it's down.

Your rights

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Changes

If I change these terms, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that really affects you gets said in the game as well.
